Pre/Post Care

  • ~ Allow sufficient hair growth for your appointment. Hair must be visible to be treated.

    ~ Drink plenty of water and moisturize often. Hydrated skin responds better to treatment and will help to reduce inflammation and sensitivity.

    ~ Gently exfoliate the are being treated before your appointment.

    ~ If you are sensitive to discomfort, heat, or your pain tolerance is significantly lower than average, you may take a Tylenol before your treatment. If you prefer to use numbing cream, be sure to apply generously and cover with plastic wrap a minimum of 30 minutes to 1 hour before your appointment.

    *numbing cream must stay moist for efficacy.

    ~ Avoid waxing, tweezing, or threading during your electrolysis treatment schedule.

    ~ Avoid caffeine the day of your appointment.

    ~ Avoid salty meals before your appointment.

    ~ Avoid direct sun if possible and wear sunscreen to prevent sunburn and/or dryness.

    ~ Avoid wearing makeup to your appointment.

  • ~ Do not touch, stretch, or manipulate treated area for at least 24 hours following treatment.

    ~ Clean treated area very gently using fingers and facial cleanser. Do not use face cloth, facial brush, or sponges.

    ~ If you wish to wear makeup over treated area, apply foundation very gently, using clean fingers.

    ~ To avoid hyperpigmentation, use a sun block and avoid sun exposure, including tanning salons for one week.

    ~ Apply cold compresses if area feels hot. Do not use ice.

    ~ Apply a medicated preparation such as Polysporin and the product recommended by your technician after treatment.

    ~ Refrain from strenuous physical activity for 48 hours after intervention.

    ~ Refrain from using a sauna, whirlpool, or swimming pool for 48 hours following treatment. An increase in blood flow may break the coagulated capillary and cause treatment failure.

    ~ Do not drink alcohol 24 hours after intervention.

    ~ Do not take aspirin for 48 hours after intervention.

    ~ Refrain from using irritating agents (AHA, Retinol, etc.) one week prior and 1 week after electrolysis treatment.
